Calvin College was founded as a seminary for the Christian Reformed Church in 1876 and has remained committed to offering a liberal education thoroughly steeped in Christian “faith, thought, and practice.” Calvin is strongly influenced by the Reformed tradition, which views the world as “made good by God, distorted by sin, redeemed in Christ, and awaiting the fullness of God’s reign.”
